VRBAS 04.07.2018: KIKINDA TOOK GOLD

Opština Vrbas was organizer of yesterday´s first City Games event in Serbia which were held
in the pool CFK Drago Jovović. There were five teams – Vrbas, Kikinda, Sombor, Kula and
Odžak competing in six different games. In the end of the two hours long battle a gold medal
and a place in the national semi-final of north region (Sombor, 10 th July) took a team Kikinda.

Many experiences from the past years Kikinda showed already in the first three games where
they achieved maximal amount of points. Dominant results in flying water polo (153 points)
and barrel race (2:07 min) proved that Kikinda is ready to achieve something big this year.
“Last year we lost in the final just for a little bit. This year we are very well prepared so we
expect to win in Zlatibor and to represent Serbia in the international final in Luxembourg in
2020,” said the captain of the winning team Borko.

Second-placed team Sombor took this performance as a good training as they have guaranteed
a place in a semi-final in Sombor being a home team. We are also sure they didn´t yet reveal
everything they are capable of for a tactical reasons.

Like in a Koper few days ago, also in Vrbas the battle for the third place was very tight
between Kula, Vrbas and Odžak. The most successful in the end was Kula and took bronze
medal in the 10 km faraway neighborhood.

Medals to the best teams were given by the president of the city of Vrbas Milan Glušac. He
thanked to the competitors for their fair play and the crowd for their great support in the first
City Games event in Serbia: “I am pleased that city Vrbas was a host of such a great sport
event. We are looking forward to also meet next year.”

The author of the project Miroslav Krzyk expressed his gratitude to city Vrbas for their good
organization: “Everything was perfect – the crowd was excellent, players were very good
prepared. For Vrbas I would give the mark 10! We are totally excited to come back here next
year.”
